Union County Nonprofit to Host Auction to Support Medical Care for Rare Diseases | Community

Strasburg, Pennsylvania – A Union County organization is holding an auction to support medical care for children and adults with rare diseases and medical conditions.

The Clinic for Special Children (CSC), a nonprofit comprehensive medical practice, celebrates its 10th annual Union County Auction on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Buffalo Valley Commodity Auction.

Funds raised through annual auctions and philanthropy represent more than 60% of the Clinic’s annual operating budget, allowing the Clinic to continue to provide affordable specialty care to children and adults living with a disease. rare genetics.

Each year, six auctions across the country are organized to support the Clinic. Since 1990, these auctions have raised nearly $15 million for the Clinic’s mission.

The family event runs from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Prior to the auction, the organization will be hosting a flower/tool ​​sale and rib dinner on June 3 from 4-8 p.m. at the same location.

Handmade quilts, furniture, plants, tools, gift baskets, toys, farm-related items, household items and more will be auctioned on Saturday. There will also be a silent auction with unique items up for bidding.

A variety of dishes will be available, including barbecued chicken and pork, homemade ice cream, hoagies, fresh pretzels, fresh baked goods and other treats.
